It’s possible that there may be a bounty of flowers in and around Flower Lake during certain times of the year, but I was not able to see too many. A return in late September might be able to capture some of autumn colours, although I’m told that the change is often very rapid. Flower Springs Lake is accessed off the Summit Lake camping area and is probably the most accessible alpine hike I’ve completed. A short hop through some pine timber or up a established communication tower road and one is into the alpine tundra. Accessing the upper portion of the lake system requires a minor scramble.
