I’ve just completed uploading and tagging the second to last installment (and easily the best) of photos from Nepal. I’ve also corrected some errors in the gallery viewer and re-uploaded the previous photo installment from Everest Base Camp which went missing from some unknown reason.
Like I said in a previous post, some of these photos are fantastic. I’m not looking to say that the photographer is any good, but rather that the conditions of that particular day on the mountain were unbeatable. Not only was the weather perfect, but this day (Oct 1st) was also the official start of trekking season, which meant that the crowds were just leaving Lukla, while I was already at the finish. Zero crowds + stellar weather = easily one of the best, most amazing and rewarding day of my life. Prior to that, it had been eight wet, cold, foggy and somewhat depressing days The Nepalese working the guesthouse at Gorak Shep swore that the weather would clear on October 1st, so I waited around a full day (30th) and visited Base Camp on the 31st). I wasn’t going to leave without seeing Big E. They were right.
