Everest in Flames
The good kind .
The Olympic flame has reached the top of the world. Live television footage showed a Chinese mountaineering team holding up a specially designed torch along with Chinese and Olympic flags Thursday on the top of Mount Everest.
I’m quite impressed by the feat. Achieving a summit is admirable in itself, but managing to carry and maintain an entity dependent on oxygen to 8800m is truly something amazing. I’m very curious about the canister used to hold the flame during the descent but I haven’t been able to to google up any images or analysis of the device.
