Wow, you still have a website?
About a month ago (March?) I realized that it had been roughly a year since I had posted on, or done anything with, my website…except pay hosting and domain fees! Since I have some time at the moment and I’m also feeling in a somewhat creative mood, I mused that it would be a good idea to get this thing up and running again.
So I downloaded the lastest Movable Type publication (4.1) and proceed to waste 2 weeks on attempts to re-learn the CMS that I used so faithfully back when I operated this site. Long story short…I’m too stupid to understand their new software…but fortunately, I’m not too stupid for Word Press!
So here we go. This is the beta edition of my blog. Lots of things are not working or have not been posted or are simply crap…but this is the general layout.
Things that I’m looking forward to:
- publishing a substantial amount of travel photos with a nifty photo gallery plugin (Yunnan, Tibet, Nepal, Laos, Vietnam, Thailand, Cambodia).
- categorizing and tagging 250 previous entries
- actually have a blog roll (that is easily manipulated)
- bloggin’
- Sending out the DL on what I’ve been up to this past year (excellent year indeed!) and what I have planned for this summer and upcoming September
So that’s it. I appreciate any suggestions you might have about what isn’t working correctly, what could be changed, or what could be added.
Oh yeah, the flags on the right bar is a nifty translation addition…just clicked which every flag floats your particular language boat!
…yes, the banner photos are my photos :-P

Great to see you up and running again. I am really looking forward to seeing your pictures and reading your comments, (and even your rants).
Hey cous, glad to see you are back up can’t wait to see your pics.
The gallery still has a few kinks to work out, but some should be up in the next day or so. Once that is all squared away, I’d like to start posting regularly again.
Good stuff, Bryan… I’m wondering is it because I took too much time from you that makes you left your blog alone last year? Kidding! I know you’ve just been busy applying schools. Now you can use most of your spare time to keep this website updated, so you must do a good job with it! ^_^
I’ll be trying my best! Although I don’t really have a theme anymore – China has been the theme for the past several years, but with that chapter rapidly coming to a close, I’m at a loss as to the direction I should take my posts. Kingston, Ontario isn’t exactly a very exciting place (from a blogging perspective).
