<description>The lenses are missing in action, as are my Atlantic magazines.

I can get away with, purchase and produce an obscene amount of things in China that would have landed me in jail twenty years ago.

But no, 35 year old camera lenses are considered subversive material which will damage Chinese culture and undermine the ability of the government to maintain stability, therefore their entry must be barred with extreme prejudice.

And GOD NO, we can&#039;t have The Atlantic in China! It&#039;s ok to have James Fallows (An Atlantic writer) live, work and interview in Shanghai and other cities. We even allow access to the website where you can read a number of evil western propaganda. But a magazine. That&#039;s too imperial. It also might undermine Chinese culture in ways that all that Japanese porn we bootleg and sell at Wal-Mart never could. What would happen if the farmers got a hold of this magazine? Good thing it&#039;s not in Mandarin.

This country is so antiquated sometimes.

Daisy, 你要什么时候回来南京？
